HOW DOES POPit WORK AND HELP PUBLISHERS?

POPit lets you follow the publications of multiple newspapers within the platform. The articles presented within the platform are not posted by the publishers themselves but are sourced from their Twitter’s feed. Publishers in partnership with POPit benefit however from a special feed of articles. POPit does not take ownership nor store the content of these articles on its servers and all traffic is directly redirected to the publisher website. As such, publishers remain in full control of their readers and their pay-walls remain effective. Within the application, POPit generates automatically teaser for each article using only the title, the description and the pictures of an article to interest its users to read the full article on the publisher’s website. This dynamic environment is being developed to raise awareness and interest the younger readers to content from trusted sources whose news consumption habits have been evolving quickly.

POPit wants to foster people to read more and discover more diverse content from trusted sources. POPit does not have advertising and is not source of any compensation.

POPit defines itself as a knowledge application where news and articles are the starting point of further discoveries. POPit connects these articles with further relevant content to offer a new way to widen your knowledge. We are convinced that by offering such additional service to the existing editorial service, high value articles could become more noticed.

WHY WE DO IT ?

POPit vision is to connect knowledge to discover interests we did not even know. News is the starting point of discovery and it is only the beginning of a bigger journey.

WHAT IS POPit ? WHY SHOULD I USE IT ?

We are building the best knowledge platform, together.

POPit is a Swiss digital kiosk regrouping newspapers in one dedicated platform conceived for young readers aged between 18 to 30 years. POPit’s strength is to connect articles from trusted sources with videos to promote diversity.

POPit changes the reading experience by connecting knowledge and by dynamizing the reading experience so that you are having fun while learning. News reading does not have to be serious and/or tiring, our goal is to make sure of that.

What does ‘POP’ mean? It means that POPit’s community should pay attention to that content for its quality and insights.

WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF POPit?

POPit has a history based on trust with Swiss publishers.

POPit was launched in Geneva, Switzerland in summer 2017. The launch was supported by our Swiss Editors partners at the time and the number of partnership has been growing since.

Several thousand of millennials in Switzerland already trust POPit as their main source of information and help build this community.

We believe that knowledge connection will change the perception and meaning of news and that’s what is driving us for the future.
